Designing to meet the requirements

ANTECH’s core approach to non-destructive assay is based on providing the optimum system for the measurement challenge, rather than providing a standard system which is not optimised for the requirements. By utilising the best system or measurement technique for the assay, the highest accuracy result can be achieved.  In order to meet this challenge, ANTECH offers Custom Instrument Design as a service and core attribute of the business. This includes the customisation and tailoring of standard systems to meet a customer’s requirements, and also designing custom instrumentation of a whole new variety from scratch in order to ensure the best system for the end user.

Custom Instrument Design includes mechanical, electrical and physics design including MCNP modelling, and comprehensive compliance assessment to UK, EU and USA standards. ANTECH mechanical designs are produced on AutoDesk Inventor 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) package for a comprehensive set of component and assembly drawings for manufacture. Electrical designs, including PCB design and modelling, are produced on AutoCAD Electrical and KiCAD design packages for block diagrams, schematics and circuit diagrams. For Custom Instrument Design projects, ANTECH provides a comprehensive System Design Definition document summarising full design detail and compliance demonstrating suitability for the custom requirements. This service is provided both as part of a project delivery process, but also as a purely design exercise, with no obligation to proceed to manufacture and delivery of the system.

ANTECH Custom Instrument Design includes;

      • Specialised assay system designed to meet a difficult challenge or situation where a standard system would not be viable.
      • Combination of ANTECH systems into a integrated measurement platform.
      • Adaptation of a standard ANTECH system to meet specialised requirements.
      • Integration of ANTECH systems on remote handling equipment such as robotics and gantry cranes.
      • Deployment and integration of auxiliary equipment, such as robotic handling, into the measurement process.
      • Modelling of systems in the installation facility for environmental radiation condsiderations.
      • Integration with other supplier equipment, such as X-Ray systems.
